Ryan Routh, a suspect in the failed Trump assassination attempt, has a long criminal history in Guilford County, North Carolina, where he was formerly a Greensboro resident.

The Guilford County arrest record of Routh dates back to the 1980s. He was charged with several felonies, including writing numerous bad checks, possessing a stolen car, and multiple counts of having a weapon of mass destruction in 2002—more precisely, a “binary explosive with a 10-in[ch] detonation cord and a blasting cap.”

Adjacent to Routh’s former North Carolina home, a neighbor who said she had known him for nearly eighteen years, before he went to Hawaii and left his Greensboro home unoccupied at least a year ago, called his family “weird” when speaking to reporters outside her house.

“He had a horse in the house. I mean, a whole live horse in the house. But I could see the guns and stuff and all. They were … oh, I mean, kind of weird. But they didn’t bother me. I didn’t bother them,” Kim Mungo said.

“I told all my friends because they didn’t believe me,” Mungo added.

“It’s just crazy to me. He was a good guy. He was sweet,” Mungo claimed, “He was sweet,” and that “his daughter was like” her own. She also mentioned that she used to “sometimes” drop Routh’s daughter off at school, but they no longer speak.

According to her, the family never voiced any strong political opinions.

Other neighbors who talked to Fox News Digital were shocked to learn that their neighbor was reportedly involved in a possible assassination attempt because they were unaware of Routh.

Following the divorce of Routh and his ex-wife in 2003, civil court papers indicate that Routh’s daughter resided with her father “full time”. Routh’s ex-wife was the son’s full-time resident.

A neighbor reported that the suspect’s ex-wife now resides with her more recent spouse; they appeared to be a normal and friendly couple. After Ryan Routh was taken into custody following the altercation at the Trump International Golf Club in Palm Beach, the neighbor claimed to have witnessed what appeared to be police activity at their house on Sunday night.

The suspect’s “financial situation” worried Routh’s ex-wife, who agreed to stop child support orders in 2009.

Authorities at the federal level accused Routh of having a gun owned by a convicted felon and of having a gun whose serial number had been destroyed. There might be more charges in the future.
