During a deposition on Friday, an individual associated with the Biden family stated that the former vice president and current president of the United States had a meeting with a Chinese government-affiliated official in 2017, which was the year they both departed from the White House.

Rob Walker asserted his claim during the House’s impeachment inquiry into Biden. He delivered a premeditated opening speech asserting that the president had never been involved in his son’s business dealings.

“Today we learned that Joe Biden met with the now-missing Chairman of CEFC, Ye Jianming, as Hunter Biden and his associates received $3 million from a Chinese entity CEFC controlled. Evidence continues to reveal the Bidens sold the ‘Biden Brand’ to enrich the Biden family,” House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer said in a statement.

“The Chinese company paid Hunter Biden and his associates $3 million shortly after Joe Biden left office as a ‘thank you’ for the work they did while Joe Biden was in office. Members of the Biden family received payments from the Chinese deal even though they did not work on it. This is the type of swampy influence peddling the American people want us to end,” he added.

According to another informant who communicated with the New York Post, Joe Biden’s appearance was deemed innocuous.

“Walker told the Committee that he believes Joe Biden briefly dropped by because Joe Biden simply wanted to lay eyes on his son who was in and out of sobriety,” that source said.

Walker previously described the encounter at the Four Seasons hotel in Washington, D.C. to the FBI as an occasion where Biden briefly joined his son Hunter Biden and the CEFC associates during their lunch.

Ye’s participation in the FBI interview was not mentioned, as previously disclosed by the House Ways and Means Committee.

According to The Post, Walker’s lawyer, Edward McAndrew, and a spokeswoman for Rep. Jamie Raskin, the ranking member of the Oversight Committee, did not immediately dispute the assertion that Walker named Ye during his deposition on Friday.

Comer stated that his committee intends to promptly publish the complete transcript of Walker’s interview.

According to the source who talked to The Post, Walker also stated that the business activities he and Hunter Biden were involved in were “completely legitimate.”

Between November 2015 and May 2017, Walker transferred more than $1 million to the Biden family from Romanian billionaire Gabriel Popoviciu. This occurred when then-Vice President Biden was actively dealing with corruption matters in Romania.

Furthermore, it has been previously reported that Walker sent an amount above $1 million to Hunter Biden, as well as to James and Hallie Biden, from a CEFC subsidiary. These transactions commenced in March 2017.

According to the source, Walker allegedly encountered Hunter Biden for the first time during the presidency of Bill Clinton. In addition, he played an active role in Joe Biden’s 2008 presidential campaign. Furthermore, the informant disclosed that Walker’s partner had formerly occupied a role working for Jill Biden while her husband served as vice president under then-President Barack Obama.

According to the source, Hunter Biden’s association with CEFC began in 2015, coinciding with his father’s time in office.

In recent weeks, Representatives Comer of Kentucky and Jim Jordan of Ohio have resumed their inquiry into Joe Biden, who is suspected of potentially obstructing his son Hunter Biden’s involvement with the House’s impeachment investigation.

The official White House statement indicated that Joe Biden had prior knowledge of Hunter’s intention to disregard congressional subpoenas, so prompting the probe.

According to their joint statement, “In light of an official statement from the White House that President Biden was aware in advance that his son, Hunter Biden, would knowingly defy two congressional subpoenas, we are compelled to examine as part of our impeachment inquiry whether the President engaged in a conspiracy to obstruct a proceeding of Congress.”
