On Tuesday, Republican Senator Ted Cruz confronted FBI Deputy Director Paul Abbate after he declined to say whether there was proof of a “bribery scandal” implicating Joe Biden.
Senator Chuck Grassley detailed the scandal’s specifics earlier this week. He brought up the Burisma CEO who was said to have paid Hunter Biden $5 million and recorded several talks with both Bidens when Joe Biden was serving as vice president in the Obama administration.
According to Cruz, “Last month, a whistleblower brought to light the existence in the FBI of a report, an FD-1023, in which the informant alleges that President Biden and his family members engaged in a $5 million bribery scheme during his time as vice president,”
“Deputy Director Abbate, is it true that the FBI has a report making those allegations?” Cruz then questioned.
Abbate answered, “I’m not going to comment on that, Senator.
“You don’t owe the American people an obligation to be candid about evidence of corruption by the President of the United States?” Cruz responded.
Cruz made numerous additional attempts to get Abbate to respond, but the FBI Deputy Director refused, saying, “this is an area that I’m not going to get into with you, senator.”
Following that, Cruz charged Abbate with “stonewalling and covering up serious allegations of evidence of corruption from the president.”
Cruz stated that “yesterday, Senator Chuck Grassley stood on the Senate floor and alleged that there are 17 recordings of this informant from Burisma, Ukrainian natural gas company,” continuing that “15 of them are recordings, voice recordings, of him talking to Hunter Biden, two of them are voice recordings of him talking to Joe Biden. Deputy Director Abbate, does the FBI have 17 voice recordings laying out evidence of a bribery scheme?”
Abbate again declined to speak.
Cruz warned, saying “The American people have a right to know whether there is serious, credible evidence that the president of the United States took a $5 million bribe.” “This is why you are damaging the institution.”
“The FBI has right now unlimited hubris,” Cruz proclaimed, and went on to state “you believe you are unaccountable. You won’t believe you are accountable to the U.S. Congress or the American people. And you are doing damage.”

Abbate said to Senator Blackburn in another exchange during the hearing, “I have no idea if there are voice recordings or not.”
Abbate also succinctly concluded, “What I will tell you with respect to the document, the document was redacted to protect the source, as everyone knows, and this is a question of life and death, potentially.”

According to a prominent GOP investigator, recently revealed emails between Hunter Biden and his associates with the Obama White House raise questions about Joe Biden’s assertions that he knew nothing of his son’s business operations.
Based on emails which the National Archives recently handed to the conservative nonprofit America First Legal, Hunter Biden and his then-business associates were frequently in contact with senior officials in the Obama administration while Joe Biden was vice president.
The chairman of the House Oversight Committee, James Comer (R-KY), claimed the emails show Joe Biden has repeatedly “lied to the American people when he said he had no knowledge of his son’s business dealings.” Comer is heading a thorough probe into the Biden family.
According to recently discovered emails, Hunter Biden and his colleagues requested entry to the White House and formal government functions.
“We know Hunter Biden’s business associates visited the White House numerous times during the Obama-Biden administration, and now-unearthed emails reveal Hunter Biden and his associates sought access to the White House and official government events,” Comer declared.
“The House Oversight Committee will continue to follow the Bidens’ complex financial transactions to determine the extent of their influence peddling schemes to determine if President Biden is compromised and our national security is threatened.”
“Comer’s remarks come after a handful of Republican members of Congress raised concerns over the unearthed emails to the Washington Examiner on Thursday, with Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN) alleging that the “Biden family’s corruption” is “far worse than Watergate.” The emails, as well as records on Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop that were reviewed by the Washington Examiner, show Hunter Biden’s longtime business partner Eric Schwerin contacted top aides for Joe Biden to see if an associate could attend a 2010 State Department lunch with Chinese government officials,” the Washington Examiner reported.
Other records show Hunter Biden initiated contact on June 3, 2020, with Alan Hoffman, Joe Biden’s then-deputy chief of staff, and asked to “talk about Africa.” Hoffman wrote back shortly after, “Always available for you,” while Hunter Biden also later in the day contacted Anthony Bernal, a then-adviser for Jill Biden, in an email titled “Nairobi ideas.”
In August 2010, Hunter Biden traveled to South Africa as a Secret Service protectee, according to a 2020 report by Sens. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and Ron Johnson (R-WI) titled “Hunter Biden, Burisma, and Corruption: The Impact on U.S. Government Policy and Related Concerns.” The National Archives-released documents pertaining to Africa could further Republican-led investigations into Hunter Biden’s business dealings in the content, lawmakers told the Washington Examiner last week.
Comer additionally stated to the Washington Examiner that “the American people deserve answers, transparency, and accountability.”
