Victory at last in North Carolina, a state that has been under tremendous pressure and infiltration by radical Marxists like William J. Barber, Eric Holder, Statecy Abrams, Marc Elias, and of course “King Roy Cooper,” the deceitful and corrupt Governor who has terrorized the state with his leftist COVID lock down fantasies for years- refusing to give up is “Emergency powers” over the free people in the state.
Cooper is such a tyrant that he arrested two activists during his reign. One was Matthew “Jax Meyers,” who did nothing more than enter his place of business to speak to someone he was meeting in that location, as reported by Daily Caller. He also had a woman named Monica Ussery arrested for protesting the COVID lockdowns, whose case has still not been settled as Cooper refuses to free her.
In 2021 Democrat Roy Cooper vetoed 65 bills that the NC General Assembly had passed to bring health and healing to the people of North Carolina. But Cooper was having none of it while he could pretend that his emergency powers were enough to allow him to rule like a King, and he refused to stop.
In that stack of vetos, Cooper vetoed the Emergency Powers Accountability Act that would have limited his emergency powers by requiring any state of emergency lasting longer than a week would need the support of the North Carolina Council of State.
That council is dominated by Republicans, so he fought tooth and nail to give power back to the people’s representatives. In a statement, Cooper, who is a Democrat, defended the veto by saying lawmakers shouldn’t debate public emergencies.
No matter what the Republican leaders of the General Assembly did to wrestle those powers away from Cooper and pass bills the people wanted, the state was left under tyrannical rule as Cooper would veto anything the people wanted.
Local media outlet North Carolina Journal reported that Cooper tried his little veto play early in the new session and was humiliated.
“On Tuesday, the North Carolina Senate voted to override Governor Roy Cooper’s first veto of the new legislative biennium by a vote of 30-19.
Cooper vetoed Senate Bill 41 (S.B. 41) last week, his first veto since the new members took office in January who were elected in the 2022 midterms.
However, Cooper is out of power now.
Voters limited Cooper’s veto power in the 2022 election. North Carolinians sent a Republican supermajority to the state Senate, and a near Republican supermajority plus several moderate Democrats to the state House.”
So, Cooper had signaled that no matter what the people had wanted- he was ready to veto himself through the 2023 session as well.
That was until the elections of Nov. 2022 when the people elected enough NC Senate members to have a majority; however, they were one seat short in the NC House to have a super majority and automatically override Cooper’s veto and seize those emergency powers away from him.
The bad news for horrible Cooper is that the days of his misused VETO power are over, as that one remaining seat in the Senate has been filled, and North Carolina now has a supermajority.

Republican legislatures in two key swing states managed to secure Republican supermajorities in at least one of their chambers following elections on Tuesday.
But in North Carolina, it wasn’t an election that shifted the balance, it was a personal decision made by a state Democratic lawmaker, Jon Doughtery reported for Conservative Brief, adding:
According to WCNC News, Representative Tricia Cotham, a Democrat who represents the city of Charlotte, North Carolina, is facing pressure from her fellow Democratic colleagues to step down due to her plans to announce her intention to join the Republican Party. House Democratic Leader Robert Reives and State Party Chair Anderson Clayton have described her decision to switch parties as a “betrayal” of the voters who have “overwhelmingly supported Democratic candidates up and down the ballot.”
Cotham is set to make her official switch to the Republican Party at a news conference on April 5, where she will be joined by Republican House Speaker Tim Moore at the North Carolina Republican Party headquarters in Raleigh. Her decision to switch parties will give the Republicans a supermajority in the legislature, granting them the ability to veto Democratic Governor Roy Cooper, as reported by Axios Charlotte.

Democratic leaders expressed their anger and resentment at Cotham’s decision.
“Rep. Tricia Cotham campaigned as a Democrat and supporter of abortion rights, health care, public education, gun safety, and civil rights. The voters of House District 112 elected her to serve as that person and overwhelmingly supported Democratic candidates up and down the ballot,” Reives said in a statement cited by WCNC News.
“Now, just a few months later, Rep. Cotham is changing parties. That is not the person that was presented to the voters of House District 112. That is not the person those constituents campaigned for in a hard primary, and who they championed in a general election in a 60% Democratic district. Those constituents deserved to know what values were most important to their elected representative,” he added.
“She no longer represents the values constituents trusted her to champion and should resign immediately,” Clayton tweeted.
The pouting by the Democrats can go on and on because many North Carolinians believe, hopefully, with this new power, they can impeach Cooper for good.
