During Tuesday’s White House press conference, a reporter fainted, causing a momentary stop and prompt worry from others in attendance, including Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre. The event happened while a different journalist was asking a question about when a new immigration plan would be implemented.

Jean-Pierre interrupted the briefing in the middle of a sentence to check on a reporter who appeared to be in trouble. During the live broadcast of the episode, Jean-Pierre promptly inquired about the reporter’s well-being and if they required any water.

“I think we’re okay to move on. And does anybody need water?” KJP asked.

“Scotch, perhaps,” one reporter joked.

“That’s a whole other place, not here,” she responded.

Social media users responded quickly, with remarks that ranged from caustic to empathetic. Martina Mason, an X user, made light of the fainting incident by blaming it on “all the gaslighting.”

Another mentioned how claustrophobic the press room was most of the time.
