Harvey Weinstein, a disgraced Hollywood tycoon and alleged sexual predator, was promptly transported to the hospital following the reversal of his felony rape conviction.

“They examined him and sent him to Bellevue. It seems like he needs a lot of help, physically. He’s got a lot of problems. He’s getting all kinds of tests. He’s somewhat of a train wreck health-wise,” his lawyer Arthur Aidala told Sky News.

The news outlet noted that Weinstein will remain in jail despite the recent ruling “because he was convicted in Los Angeles in 2022 of another rape. He was sentenced to 16 years in prison for that crime.”

A court in New York has mandated a fresh trial in the significant “MeToo” case against Weinstein.

Weinstein has been experiencing chronic cardiovascular issues, diabetes, sleep apnea, and ocular complications for an extended period of time.

He was transferred from the Mohawk Correctional Facility, where he had been incarcerated since 2023, to the Rikers Island jail complex.

“He was not treated well. They refused to give him even a sip of water, no food, no bathroom break,” said Aidala.

“He’s a 72-year-old sickly man.”

According to a spokesperson from the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision, Weinstein was transferred to the city’s Department of Correction in compliance with the directive issued by the appeals court.

Weinstein is currently incarcerated in a correctional facility in New York, where he is serving a 23-year prison term. He was convicted for sexually abusing Mimi Haleyi, a former production assistant, in 2006, and for raping Jessica Mann, an aspiring actress, in 2013.

Alvin Bragg, the district attorney for Manhattan, is now engaged in a legal proceeding involving allegations of hush money against former President Donald Trump. He will now determine whether Weinstein will be granted a retrial.

Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted pedophile, met his death in New York’s jail system.
