The youngest of the former president Trump’s children, Barron Trump, is about to make his first foray into politics.

A copy of the findings shows that the 18-year-old was selected by the Republican Party of Florida on Wednesday night to be one of the state’s at-large delegates to the Republican National Convention.

The 18-year-old high school senior will represent Florida as one of 41 at-large delegates to the national convention, where the Republican Party of Florida chairman Evan Power announced that his father will be the party’s official nominee for president in the general election scheduled for November.

Barron Trump has avoided the political and public limelight thus far in order to concentrate on his academics. His father expressed worry that he might not be able to attend his son’s graduation because of his current “hush money” trial in New York City, which catapulted him into the public eye.

To allow Trump to attend his son’s graduation, the trial’s judge announced that there will be no court on May 17.

Near Trump’s south Florida residence, Mar-a-Lago, is a private high school that Barron Trump attends.

The former president and his wife, former First Lady Melania Trump, are parents to just one kid.

Tiffany, the youngest daughter of President Trump, Eric Trump, and Donald Trump Jr. are also traveling from Florida to the convention, which is being held in Milwaukee from July 15–18.

Having been chosen as delegation chair, Eric Trump will submit his father’s nomination on his behalf.

ABC News was informed by a campaign official that Barron “is very interested in our nation’s political process.”
