Liberal Media And Trump Join Forces

In an effort to fight Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s efforts to restrict the public’s access to the evidence that will be used in his trial against Trump, a group of liberal media outlets have joined forces with former president Donald Trump in a legal appeal.

The president’s legal counsel cited the letter, which was written, signed, and reported by NBC News, in opposition to “requiring the advance sealing or redaction of court filings or their exhibits in this case.”

“We similarly oppose any Order which would require any Party to seek consent from the opposing party before filing any motion in unredacted form on the public docket,” Susan Necheles, Joe Tacopina and Todd Blanche wrote to New York state Judge Juan Merchan, who is overseeing the trial.

The former president’s most recent action builds on his earlier plea to stop Bragg from restricting Trump’s access to the information used against him. DA When the president instructed his former lawyer and fixer Michael Cohen to pay $130,000 to adult film star Stormy Daniels to settle allegations of an affair just days before the 2016 election, Bragg has filed 34 felony charges alleging the president hid business and campaign finance records.

The trial, which is scheduled to start next year, will undoubtedly receive a lot of media coverage along with President Trump’s bid for reelection. The former president has made a deliberate choice to work with media agencies that will likely broadcast any unfavorable developments against him in Bragg’s case by collaborating with liberal media outlets. Trump routinely uses the mainstream media as a bulwark and is likely to do so once more if his interests change.

The Democratic prosecutor recently agreed to a subpoena from House Republicans requiring a former lawyer in his office to testify about why Bragg initially decided not to prosecute Trump before changing his mind earlier this year. Sealing evidence is not DA Bragg’s only covert action as he gets ready for court.
