During the funeral on Thursday morning, Melania Trump gave a heartfelt speech in honor of her deceased mother, Amalija Knavs.

‘Her nurturing spirit had no limits, creating a legacy that will last for generations,’ the former First Lady said of her mother who passed away on January 9, aged 78. ‘With her beauty and impeccable sense of style she turned heads. But it was her unwavering dedication and hard work that made her exceptional.’

She expressed great enthusiasm about her mother’s deep fondness for her 17-year-old grandson, Barron. She described how her mother showered him with love, sensitive care, and steadfast devotion, which greatly brightened his life.

Her voice faltered as she spoke from the pulpit at Bethesda-by-the-Sea Episcopal Church, uttering the words, ‘May my cherished mother find eternal peace.’

The ex-President arrived in Florida during the early morning to be by his wife’s side, with the couple closely trailing the funeral in one of perhaps twelve black SUVs.

Melania displayed unwavering composure as she exited the church, observing silently as the coffin was brought outside, accompanied by pallbearers and clergy.

As the funeral procession arrived at the road, the woman observed her mother being placed back into the hearse. At that moment, Trump gently grasped his wife’s hand.

She departed in the identical automobile as her father, while Trump trailed after in a separate SUV, acknowledging Secret Service agents with a gesture of appreciation as they secured the route to guarantee a seamless departure for the grieving individuals.

‘It was lovely. She spoke artfully and straight from the heart about the elegance of her mother and the extraordinary stewardship she had for the family,’ Melania’s lawyer Michael Wildes told DailyMail.com afterwards.

The former First Lady managed to get through the hour-long service without breaking down, said Wildes, who secured US citizenship for Knavs in 2018.

‘Melania was composed and elegant as always but this was undoubtedly an impactful moment for her,’ he added.

‘The loss of her mother has really shocked her to the core. She relied heavily on her for support and council. She was the epitome of a doting grandmother.’

On Thursday morning, Melania and her father Viktor were accompanied by mourners in the same magnificent Palm Beach chapel where she had married Trump over twenty years ago.

The funeral procession carrying Knavs’ coffin was accompanied by a substantial Secret Service vehicle, arriving shortly after 10am.

Melania and Trump were accompanied by their son Barron, while Knavs’ husband Viktor appeared clearly distressed but took a moment to regain his composure before joining the rest of the group.

They approached the church at a leisurely pace, forming a group of four individuals, maintaining absolute silence. Numerous agents observed the scene, while the three men were attired in black suits and ties, and Melania wore a black suit jacket, black skirt, and a silver cross around her neck.

At the entrance of the church, the Rev. Tim Schenck, who assumed the position of rector in 2022, awaited their arrival. He greeted them with a solemn nod and offered a few concise words of solace.

With an unwavering demeanor, Melania observed the synchronized movement of all four individuals as they directed their attention towards the procession of Knavs’ coffins. The coffins were adorned with an impressive arrangement of white roses, orchids, and lilies, and were being transported from the street to the church.

Eventually, they all proceeded to enter, with the casket following closely after. They passed by another extravagant floral arrangement, adorned with large pink and white roses, carnations, and daisies.

Ivanka and Tiffany Trump were part of a group of approximately 100 mourners who attended the funeral service for Knavs at 10am on Thursday morning.

Both individuals were attired in sophisticated black outfits, with Ivanka accessorizing her outfit with a pair of stylish dark sunglasses.

Jared Kushner and Michael Boulos, both dressed in black suits and black ties, accompanied their wives.

Eric and Lara Trump arrived shortly afterwards, with Lara wearing a black top and grey skirt, and Eric donning a grey suit.

Senators Rick Scott and Lindsay Graham were observed entering the historic church, exchanging cordial greetings outside before proceeding into.

Trump’s sister, Elizabeth Trump Grau, who is 82 years old, was positioned directly in front of them. Kimberly Guilfoyle, who is Donald Trump Jr.’s partner, aged 54, was also observed.

The Trumps have been frequent attendees at the 125-year-old chapel ever since Melania married Donald, who was a real estate billionaire at the time, in 2005. The wedding ceremony took place in the presence of distinguished guests, including Hillary and Bill Clinton.

One year later, their son Barron was baptized at the gothic-revival style location, situated less than three miles away from Trump’s luxurious Florida home, Mar-a-Lago.

Throughout his Presidency, the Trumps also participated in numerous Christmas services at that location.

Donald Trump’s chances of success were uncertain following a contentious confrontation with a New York federal judge presiding over E. Jean Carroll’s defamation lawsuit against him. The judge rejected a request to postpone the trial.

Judge Lewis Kaplan observed that the former President was not legally required to be in court in person. However, he was subjected to a vehement outburst on Truth Social, where Trump labeled him as a ‘bad, biased, and irrationally angry judge nominated by Clinton.’

Trump did deliver a touching tribute to his mother-in-law during his victory speech at the Iowa caucuses Tuesday, hailing her an ‘incredible, beautiful mother.’

‘She’s up there, way up there. She’s looking down and she’s so proud of us. And I just want to say to Amalija, you are special, one of the most special people I’ve ever known,’ he added.

Melania, aged 53, was absent for the majority of the Christmas and New Year festivities at Mar-a-Lago as she was tending to her sick mother. Her mother, who was originally from a poor Slovenian hamlet, spent her last days as a wealthy retiree in Florida.
