President Biden was accosted by U.S. Representative Marjorie Taylor-Greene (R-GA) prior to what might be his last State of the Union speech.
President Biden encountered U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) as he was entering the room. She was seated close to the aisle, wearing a blouse in memory of University of Georgia student Laken Riley, who was killed by an illegal alien, and a hat that said “Make America Great Again.” Biden’s eyes widened and his lips fell open in amazement when Rep. Greene spoke with the president.
Then, a Democrat elected to office tried to nudge Trump away by saying, “Look over here, Mr. President.”
MTG could be heard stating, “Her name is Laken Riley,” as the president ignored her, though it was unclear what the two were talking during the official broadcast.
Riley was murdered by a citizen of Venezuela who had entered the country illegally and was freed from Border Patrol custody. With the aid of an NGO, he proceeded to New York City from there, where he was detained for assault and intoxication while operating a vehicle. He was then caught in Georgia for shoplifting, but as both cities are designated as “Sanctuaries,” nothing of his crimes led to his deportation.
Subsequently, Greene posted a video that featured her perspective. The president accepted a pin that the Republican congressman had given him honoring Laken Riley, adding, “I know how to say her name.”
“Laken Riley,” was Greene’s response. The congresswoman then said, “Say her name, Mr. President,” to which the president grinned and turned to go.
