Icon of Fox News Sean Hannity is leaving his home state of retirement behind in favor of traveling south to a stronghold of freedom, fulfilling a life-altering pledge he made to himself earlier this year.

Hannity, 62, recently sold his Long Island mansion for an astounding $12.7 million, according to the Wall Street Journal, after announcing that he was “done” with the state of New York. The 11,000 square foot property’s value increased due to a bidding war for the waterfront location. Nest Seekers International listing agent Shawn Elliott stated that the buyer, who was a Hannity fan, also bought the estate’s furniture. Elliott told the source, “I think there was a little bit of a star factor,” and added that the buyer “got a great deal.”

It’s “a new record for the fastest home sale over $10 million in the area,” he said. “We do whatever it takes to get the house sold for the most money in the least amount of time with the absolute best terms.”

Since Hannity first paid $8.7 million for the Oyster Bay home in 2008, the transaction has appreciated by about 33%. The Journal also noted that Hannity has since made some renovations to the resort-style swimming pool, private dock, and par-3 golf course, which are examples of personal luxuries. Only forty minutes from Manhattan, Hannity will soon be away from his fifteen-year studio.

The Fox News host has already bought a 3,800-square-foot townhouse with a beachfront view in Palm Beach, Florida, according to His asking price? A cool $5.3 million, plus there is no state income tax.

“We are now beginning our first broadcast from my new home, and that is in the free state of Florida,” Hannity stated on his daily radio show in January. “I am out. I am done. I am finished in New York.”

Hannity had to start his home studio over after the move, but he claimed he “feels a lot better” about leaving the Big Apple and all of its issues behind. Additionally, by substituting Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for liberal officials like New York Governor Kathy Hochul and Mayor Eric Adams, Hannity’s delegates will be economically conservative.

“And finally for the first time that I can think of in my adult life, I actually have representatives in the state that I’m living in that share my values,” Hannity said. “And if anything, I’m probably late and behind the curve and many others have made the move beforehand and there’s not a single person that I know, that made a move like this that is not happy that they’ve made it,” he said.

The 27-year Fox veteran gave several explanations for his relocation, including “heavy regulation, high crime, and terrible school districts” as the main causes of Americans’ exodus from deep-blue regions. The U.S. Census Bureau reports that Democratic strongholds Illinois, California, and New York lost more than 100,000 citizens between 2021 and 2022. In 2023, California, which levies the highest income and sales taxes in the nation, lost almost 75,000 more citizens.

According to Fox, Florida added roughly 1.1 million more people between 2020 and 2023.

Other conservatives who have relocated to the Sunshine State include prominent GOP fundraisers like businessmen Ken Griffin and Oracle founder Jeffrey Henry, as well as journalists Charlie Kirk and Ben Shapiro.
